Yes, those fever dreams and night sweats were a sign. Tekken has arrived on the Wii U. Continue reading →

All of your favorite characters are back with more visual flair, sweet takedowns, and stunning hand-to-hand combat than ever. Nintendo’s Wii U release of Tekken is sure to blow a few minds here and there.

One reason Tekken has always done so well with its fans is due to the sheer number of combinations to create special Attacks. Rarely could you ever just mash a group of buttons together and hope to win a fight. It took skill. It took Training. It took Muscle memory and dedication to guarantee that your player would survive in each arena. Well, you can count on more of that this time around, because the Wii U controller is going to spawn some true Tekken Jedi’s.

With the introduction of the touch screen controller, players will be able to create more advanced combinations of hand-to-hand Attacks. This isn’t like the Street Fighter that you used to play on the Super Nintendo. No, there will be no chance kicks or Punches that randomly take down your opponent. Instead, you will have to master the moves. You will have to forge a Strong relationship with your favorite and most Reliable character. You must respect the possibilities and the potential of this engineering feat of mankind that we call Tekken. Only then can the Wii U respect you.

So, scroll through the lineup of opponents, recognize some old faces, crazy haircuts and racy outfits. Choose your player and kick some ass, if you can.

Soccer is a hard game to boil down to controllers, analog controls, and television screens. A lot get lost in translation. However, that is not the case with EA’s release of FIFA on the Wii U.

The 90 minute game of futbol is the most recognized 90 minutes of game play around the world. The fans are extreme and endless in number. The possibilities of crosses, bicycle kicks, and possible head-butts are infinite, yet Nintendo’s Wii U controller manages to successfully embody the Fast-paced, unpredictable play Style of a Champion’s League game and fit it all on a 6.2 inch, touch screen controller.

With all of your favorite players in the mix, there will be some exciting match-ups in the newest installment of FIFA. The touch screen Wii U controller gives players the option to make steadFast calls on the field and push past the Defense. So, Chelsea v. Man U? Arsenal v. Liverpool? Spain v. Brazil? Whatever match-up you can think of, FIFA can do, and FIFA can do it in stunning and flawless Style.

Gather your friends for a local grudge match, a friendly tournament, or a high stakes game of world soccer domination. With the Innovations of the Wii U and the new controller, FIFA will be sure to be more Fun than ever before. For all of those fans who have crooned over Ronaldo when he flashed those pearly whites, or screamed in their Living room when Torres made a goal, FIFA will be sure to provide just as much emotion.

Nintendo’s Wii U is bringing a surge of dashing, technological Innovations to all gamers. For all faithful fans of the Nintendo franchise, the Wii U will prove to be the most exciting home gaming console yet. For those that haven’t picked up a controller since the N64, prepare to have your mind blown (in the best way possible). Continue reading →

We never want to become complacent with our games. We never want to peak with what we can and can’t do with game play Innovations, Graphics improvements, and storyline twists. If that happened, if designers and engineers simply created something and stopped there, everyone would still be playing Pong in their Living rooms—not to say Pong wasn’t a great game. So, we go from a 2D, heavily pixilated ball to a 2D Side-Scrolling Adventure game, from 2D to 3D, from joysticks to rumble paks. We constantly improve our games, from ripples to waves. And then, the wave crests, looking more big, beautiful, and Bold than ever. That wave just happens to be Nintendo’s Wii U, a gaming wave that promises to bring all of those stranded in an endless sea of unsatisfactory games, to a glorious island, abundant in new characters, bigger Artillery, and a technological sun that one can bask in all day but never burn. Yes, the Wii U.

Not only does the Wii U come with a host of exciting new features—the Wii U controller, full HD Graphics—but it also comes with some fantastic Wii U games. We are going to get a chance to see some old classis revamped, like New Super Mario Bros, as well as some long-awaited sequels and follow-ups like Pikmin 3. With the addition of the touch screen Wii U controller, players can expect to feel a completely new Style of game play, a Style that is completely foreign, but totally satisfying.

Link must save Zelda. In HD. Enough said. Continue reading →

How do you improve upon an instant Classic? How do you make the perfect, epic Adventure, even better? How do you create a Quest more rewarding, more challenging, and more exciting than the one of Link to save the beloved Zelda? Well, according to the people at Nintendo, you put it in HD.

Zelda HD is coming to Nintendo’s Wii U and actually promises many more innovations than solely the inclusion of the HD display—which is in its own right, very badass. The addition of the Wii U controller will give the player the chance to see two different views of the game play, which has provided some very impressive results.

Link tends to represent that stone-faced, baby-cute, little green ball of courage, tearing through bosses and dungeons and Mosnters simply because it is what is noble and needs to be done. Anyone who has been a fan of these Herculean heroics will no doubt find themselves huge fans of Zelda HD. After all, isn’t it that much better when you can see every stunning detail in action, every swipe of the Sword, every shot of the Arrow?

This Wii U release promises more challenging Fun than ever before. So, for all of those diehard Zelda fans, put down those N64 controllers; there is no need for your Ocarina of Time in this installment. However, you must still be just as focused on obtaining pieces of hearts and completing your Quest across Hyrule.

The Rabbids are truly absurd and insane in every sense. If the Killer Freaks from Outer Space were, perhaps, were to reproduce with Sour Patch Kids in some sort of abandoned glue factory, then the Rabbids would be the most likely outcome.

If anyone recalls the previous appearances of the Raving Rabbids, then it is well-known how much of a nuisance they proved to be to Rayman. However, there is no need to worry about that in this new release for the Wii U. The Rabbids are the stars of the show—whether they know it or not—in this rapid-fire, Raunchy, and raucous mix of Fun, Insanity, and outlandish quirks and misadventures.

The Wii U controller can be sure to add to the sense of Silly and no limits Fun in this wild Adventure. Rabbids is possibly best played by all of those people who just need to let loose, to “break free” as Freddy Mercury once said. This is the game to really burn off some energy to, to feel like a kid to, to act without thinking and think without remembering. After all, that is the way of the Rabbid. They are raving mad, uncalculating, and Strange bunnies with fairly large gaps in their teeth. There is not really much more to say than that. The rest is for the Gamer to figure out. The rest is for the Gamer to experience on the Wii U.

In most lifestyles, there is at least a small amount of wiggle room. A small slipup here and there doesn’t exactly spell Death, at least in most lifestyles. However, a creed tends to change up the game quite a bit, especially when the creed is indoctrinated in the game of life and Death. Well, Nintendo is changing the game as well with the release of Assassins Creed on the Wii U.

For many of those who have played Assassins Creed before, they were no doubt impressed with the visual feast of daring takedowns and stunning game environments. The game made each Kill something of a Stealthy accomplishment, a casual achievement. There is only more of this to come with the Wii U release.

The Wii U controller will revolutionize the already intriguing game play style of Assassins Creed. The new controller can be used as an Interactive map and a tool to scout out potential Enemies. So, if you thought beforehand that the game play couldn’t get any smoother, any more savory and succulent, then you were wrong my friend. It’s like the people at Nintendo took Batman: Arkham City and injected a whole lot of suave into the mix.

This third-person action Adventure game has become more real than ever. The Stealth is more sneaky and sly than you have ever imagined and the takedowns will let you know when it is truly going down.

Never has it felt so great to lose track of minutes, days, and the general existence of the realm of earth and all of those Friends standing so closely beside you, flailing their arms with such enthusiasm that you are subconsciously thankful for the wrist strap on the Wii Nunchuks. And then there is you. Stuck. Outside of Time, all-seeing with the new Wii U controller in front of your eyes. Life is good. Continue reading →

With the release of the Nintendo Wii in 2006, the gaming world essentially felt what one might call a ripple in Time. Horizons took a break from rising and falling, days mingled closely enough with nights so that Time lost meaning, and more controllers than ever in history were thrown through the screens of high definition plasmas. Well, that ripple is about to make waves. The Wii U has almost arrived.

The Wii U is Nintendo’s newest Home console. It offers a Wii U controller with touch screen capabilities and motion controls, full HD Graphics, and more exciting games and game play styles than we would have been capable of mentally handling in 2006. However, 2011 is the Year. It is the Year of more brawling and bashing with the release of the new Super Smash Bros, more teamwork and friendly fire with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online, and more of those huggable, plant-like creatures in Pikmin 3.

The Wii U is the console of Friends and Enemies, teamwork and some of the most unfair, game-sanctioned, player-enforced match-ups of all Time. Players will have the chance to single out that one person who always seems to win so effortlessly in hopes of taking away their casual glory. Players will have the opportunity to slice and dice with such precision that the space around the controller is left with lines in the air, actual rifts in Time. So, Gear up and get ready to get lost in Time once again with Nintendo’s Wii U.

The act of war is an act that encourages strategy. It thrives on innovation. It hungers for creativity. War relies on brute force, quick thinking, and hell of a lot of luck. And chances are that wars are rarely won the same way twice. So, you’ve got to have a new way to enter the battlefield each time, an unexpected way of dodging bullets, bombs, and shrapnel, a way that appears to be executed with a casual flawlessness that is unable of being reproduced, even if you are covered in dirt, grit, and sweat by the end of it all. Well, the Wii U has given us that new way.

The third installment of Battlefield will be released on the Wii U and give Friends an entirely new way to take down Enemies. In this first-person Shooter, you will have a chance to step onto the battlefield with one particular advantage: the Wii U controller. The Touch Screen display of the new controller works flawlessly with the style of game play found in Battlefield. Whether you need to reload or run for your life, the controller responds with the fluid and quick Motion that Ryu would find as a part of his sword in Ninja Gaiden. So, as you are standing in your living room, hair cowlick standing at full attention, yesterday’s underwear slightly wrinkled, you can feel the true power of the new Wii U controller as it is converted into whatever Artillery you are carrying.

No one made it out of the movie version. Perhaps you will have better luck. Continue reading →

This is for all those people that saw the “Aliens” movie and thought they could do better. Now, Nintendo gives Friends a chance to drop into the world of the aliens in this first-person Shooter on the Wii U.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will offer all of the thrills and chills of Killer Freak from Outer Space—emphasizing a head-on, outnumbered assault on bloodthirsty extraterrestrials—but I would suggest you find an adult diaper or at least play in a pair of pants that you are not to fond of before diving into an intense exploration of this alien world.

However, do not Fear too much, for the Wii U controller will be your guide and savior as you traipse through a destroyed landscape full of misshapen and fanged creatures with your Friends. First, the player will have the option to complete the entire game solely on the Wii U controller screen, meaning no television required. Second, the Wii U controller can be used as a Motion tracker to detect the presence of either Friends or Enemies in certain vicinity. And finally, for all of those people that ever wanted to be directly in the shoes of Private William Hudson, the new controller can display a fully interactive Map on the Touch Screen during game play.

So, grab some Friends and get ready to take a dive into the Darkness, to travel deep into the belly of the beast, a belly filled to the brim with the withering remains of all who traveled there before. Fun, yes?

If you love perpetual traffic, piles of rubble as far as the eye can see, an utterly destroyed, post-apocalyptic Moscow, and the general feeling of eeriness and abandonment that seeps from Dark sewers and the unofficially marked graves of nearly every square inch of an entire city, then Metro: Last Light is easily the game for you.

In this sequel to Moscow: 2033, Artyom is back again to kick some serious ass. And now, he has a friend with him to help take down some unwanted Enemies.

In this game, the mood and vibe of the post-apocalyptic Moscow landscape are sure to envelop you like a warm blanket, a blanket that then proceeds with its attempt to permanently smother you. However, with the use of the Wii U controller, Artyom will have more tricks up his sleeve to avoid the mutated Monsters from the city’s surface and stealthily take down the soldiers of the Reich while lurking under the city.

Under the cloak of Darkness in the city’s subway system, Artyom is able to sneakily get away with brutal takedowns. But don’t be lulled into a fall sense of security and silence; there are plenty of chain Guns placed perfectly around the Maps, along with many other goodies to really take some names and make some noise. Metro: Last Light is sure to make all gamers savor the light when it is around, and hold their breath while trudging through the city’s Creepy underground.
